Are you a professional screenwriter with a refugee background and do you want to develop your story into a strong film plan?
Buddy Career Boost – Writers Track in collaboration with Scriptbank, is a free hands-on development programme for writers who want to turn their story into a strong film plan.
What can you expect?
During the programme, you develop your own project and receive intensive guidance towards a professional funding application.
You work with experienced script coaches on dramaturgy, character development, and structure. You also learn how to position your project within the Dutch film industry.
There are also workshops and networking sessions on entrepreneurship, financing, and presenting.
When?
The programme runs for 6 months, from mid-June until mid-December 2026.
Weekly sessions in a small group of 12 participants.
Who is it for?
For professional screenwriters with a refugee background who want to further develop their voice and build their career in the Netherlands.
There is also space for 4 participants without a refugee background.
Costs
Participation is free for participants with a refugee background.
For other participants, the fee is €650 per person.
Why this programme?
With this program, Buddy Film Foundation aims to contribute to an inclusive film sector in which new perspectives and stories are given space.

Ben jij een professioneel scenarioschrijver met een vlucht achtergrond en wil je jouw verhaal ontwikkelen tot een sterk filmplan?
Buddy Career Boost – ‘Schrijvers Traject’ in samenwerking met Scriptbank. Een praktijkgericht ontwikkelprogramma voor schrijvers die hun verhaal willen uitwerken tot een sterk filmplan.
Wat kun je verwachten?
Tijdens dit traject werk je aan je eigen project en ontvang je intensieve begeleiding richting een professionele fondsaanvraag.
Je werkt samen met ervaren scriptcoaches aan dramaturgie, karakterontwikkeling en structuur. Ook leer je hoe je jouw project positioneert binnen de Dutch film industry.
Daarnaast zijn er workshops en netwerkmomenten over ondernemerschap, financiering en het presenteren van je filmplan.
Wanneer?
Het traject duurt 6 maanden, van medio juni tot half december 2026.
Wekelijkse sessies in een kleinschalige groep van 12 deelnemers
Voor wie?
Voor professionele scenarioschrijvers met een vluchtachtergrond die hun stem verder willen ontwikkelen en hun carrière in Nederland willen opbouwen.
Er zijn daarnaast 4 (betaalde) plekken voor deelnemers zonder vluchtachtergrond.
Kosten
Deelname is gratis voor deelnemers met een vluchtachtergrond.
Voor overige deelnemers bedraagt de bijdrage €650,- per persoon.
Waarom dit traject?
Met dit traject wil Buddy Film Foundation bijdragen aan een inclusieve filmsector waarin nieuwe perspectieven en verhalen de ruimte krijgen.
Talent is overal, en met de Buddy Career Boost bieden we schrijvers de kans om dat talent zichtbaar te maken en door te groeien naar professionele kansen binnen de industrie.
